wore shoes almost every day for three weeks in florida kayaking, shore fishing walking the beach. did not have time to break in shoes. they fit well and did not give me blisters. walked on sharp oyster beds and broken shell beaches. surprisingly the soles didn't have any cuts. I thought the fold down sole might be a gimmick but turned out to be a nice feature when getting out of the tent at night The shoe feels a little lightweight compared to my last ones but will see how they do on tough portages on a canoe trip this summer in Canada. My sense is they will be just fine. excellent shoe worth the money.

ConsDouble Mesh Does Not Work, Extra Rubber In Heal, Holds Sand Small Shells
I wanted to use water shoe in my kayak, a 21 inch wide 17 1/2 foot long sit in. With the extra rubber on the back my knees bent on my feet on the rudder pegs I was stuck, couldn't move. I got a knife out and trimmed at least a half inch of the back of the shoe...they then allowed my feet to move, but all over too much extra rubber on the edges. When in the water after landing the boat on a beach they took in sand and small shells, those particles had no way out. I cut the second layer of mesh off, they worked a tad better, but still I was out shopping this morning. I kayak three times a week about ten miles each time.

I purchased this item as a gift and the recipient intends to wear these when kayaking. He tried them on and they seem to fit very well and he is excited about using them in the summer.
