the shoes definitely work your leg and glute muscles even while standing. i also feel they help to train your legs to walk in a more efficient and ergonomically correct manner. it will take a bit of time for your feet and muscles to adjust to the shoe and you may be sore initially but i think it is worth it in the long run.

A shoe worth the investment!

I have minor arthritis in my feet and have had knee surgery. I have been trying to find a shoe that gives me the comfort I need while walking for exercis and the Shape-upscertainly do that. I actually have found that my knee pain has lessened since I began walking in my Shape-ups! I normally wear a size 15 in other brands but have found I can wear a size 14 in Skechers and the fit is very comfortable and not at all cramped.
