I love the way you can take them out of the box and wear them. I am on my feet about 8 hours a day. In the shop as well as in the field. Comfort is the most important to me. The work shoe does what is require. Cant beat the confort and support. I have purchased work shoes from other companies. Without a doubt, skechers are the work shoes which I can take out of the box and wear. No breakin period in require.

Most Durable Shoe I have owned
PostedJanuary 3, 2012
ProsComfortable, Durable, Lightweight
Summary: o Very Comfortable - Good support - Relatively Low Fatigue on concrete (standard insoles) - Steel Toe does not cut into metatarsal when bent back (squating position) - Allows freedom of upper ankle to flex (NOTE: Check with HSE (Health/Safety/Environtmental) if higher ankle support is needed before purchasing for work!) - BUT only average venting, feet will still get sweaty o Extremely Durable - Leather is tough as nails - BUT stiching is Achiles heal, moisture and dirt can cause thread to rot (~3-5 years time) o Affordable while outperforming boots more than twice its cost o Stylish enough for non-work purposes Long Version: I bought a pair of these boost back in 2006 for work (factory). I was in college, I wanted something cheap and comfortable, and I found these on clearance. They held up in a factory environment for a year and a half with only some light stitching fraying. After I left the factory, appearance counted less, and the gloves were off: o Heavy yardwork o Cutting grass/commercial mowing o Logging o Working horse farms (stepped on by large draft breeds) o Construction o Moisture damage o And general abuse I didn't know much about leather care back then (I have since worked and cared for English show saddles at international competitions), so the leather was not cared for, adding to its abuse. After 5 years of this, the leather was still in near perfect condition (scuffed, creased behind the steel plate, but no major tears). The stiching had nearly completly given out around the tongue's connection to the toe on both shoes (equal wear left and right), and the soles were worn down almost smooth (this is not a complaint, I was an agressive application). The rubber over the steel toe was still holding strong and held up (toes with unprotected leather rubbed down to the bare metal toe cap is the most common wear pattern on work boots), and the leather itself I am told by bridle makers is kangaroo leather (top tier leather for durability), accounting for it's endurance. I would highly recommend this shoe to anyone
