A Rare Occurrence: Sandals That Fit!

I'm a river guide. I live in my sandals. I just bought my second pair of Journeyman Safari sandals. The first pair served me well, but the store where I bought them went out of business. Rather than going on-line and finding another Skechers store, I bought a succession of three different pairs of sandals from other, very well-known manufacturers. The other brands were all too wide. WAY too wide. They were so loose in the toe that they could actually roll out from under my step in extreme circumstances--like walking on the uneven terrain alongside a river. That was both annoying and dangerous. It didn't feel too good either. This is the problem that I NEVER had with my Skechers (Which, by the way, cost a lot less than those big-name brands). My only complaint with the Skechers was that the lining on the footbed seemed to wear out early in the riverside environment--with almost constant sand abraision.
I trust one clothing brand enough to purchase online without first trying it on -- Skechers. I've never had a pair that didn't fit comfortably out of the box. This one is no exception. Looks good, fits like I expected, and it will serve the relatively small gulf between everyday casual wear and beach use. No regrets.
Finally! A sandal that isn't too wide for my feet. I've owned a dozen different styles of Teva and Keen sandals, and they ALL are too wide. WAY too wide. These are the only sandals I've ever found that actually FIT, and that trumps every other consideration. Price is NOT a factor, even though the Skechers cost a lot less than the Teva and Keen sandals. My only negative observations are that they do tend to take on a bad smell if not frequently washed with strong detergent; and the lining on the footbed wore through fairly quickly. But here's the thing: I'm on this website to buy another pair, for my next Grand Canyon raft trip.
