Although these are a gift to be given tomorrow (3/6), they are the expressed desire of my soon to be teen granddaughter. I'm sure she'll love the shoes. But also sure as with most new teens won't express much emotion other than, a polite Thank You. Lol. Can't wait to see the reaction though.

Not Soft or Comfortable

I didn't find these sneakers to be comfortable because they were too stiff and the fabric was not soft. The back also came up too high on my heel, and did not have any flexibility. Since they were not comfortable, I returned them.
I did like the color though. I liked that the sole was black, as well as the upper. I used to wear these in the 70s and they were very comfy and soft, but now they are too stiff and almost have a crunchiness to them.

Fall apart quickly

New Chucks fall apart so quickly. The soles are thinner and the tread shallower. The glue fails to hold the sidewall and sole together. The stitching unravels, too. The lining is no longer canvas, but a polyester mesh material. I've been wearing chucks for 15 years. Converse/Nike keep finding ways to manufacture them cheaper and raise their profit margins.
