Skecher soles, Guess what is there!
"My wife got me these because she thought I would enjoy having a pair of Converse style shoes, but she knew that I was a careless walker and might like the traction. She was right on both counts. I like the style a lot. They look enough like the original but not so much they are clones. But the soles are terrific. First of all, they simply look mean. The rows of deep zig zags stand out and, especially when I cross my legs and show them off (more about that later), bring a lot of attention. And they actually ARE sort of mean. I have always been casual about where I stepped, so if something is on the ground I am as likely to step on it as not. Since I do it so much I don't really need shoes with non-slip soles, but I have to say that it feels great having them! They really bite into what I walk on and give great grip. Want some examples? Ok! Walking at work one day there was an apple on the ground. It was totally rotten and was in my way, so I just strode on it. It was huge, and I felt it, but the great grid treads dug in and kept my footing for me, When I walk to work in the rain I can't avoid the huge worms that come out on the street, and again my Skechers keep my footing. Mud is no problem either. In fact, they leave really noticable tracks, even though the treads aren't as deep as many other shoes I have? The down side of all this traction? A lot of the stuff I walk on sticks in the treads because they are so tightly spaced. I never really cared about it with other shoes and I don't with these, even though they ALWAYS have some soft of evidence of my walking in them. In fact, when I cross my legs, or put them up on a table, people often ask me what is in the tread. I usually have them guess! In fact, the people at work ask me to see my soles when I get there in the morning and see if they can tell where I have stepped. On any given morning they will see mud, worms, old food (usually from a recent grocery store trip), and even slugs. It has become our daily ritual if I wear these in."
Pros: traction, interesting shoeprints
