ProsArch Support, Comfortable, Cushions Impact
I bought these shoes for work. I think in the beginning they were more comfortable. My big toes tend to be sore at the end of the day. I haven't noticed any improvement in my legs or bum yet....its been about 3 months with them. Kinda overrated but they are good shoes...just not worth the [$] I paid.
My whole family has purchased the Sketcher SHAPE UPS and we love them. The shoes have helped us all in correcting posture and aches & pains in the back and feet. I have had 4 foot surgeries in the last 8 months and am dealing with Plantar Fascia and this is the first shoe that I have been able to wear all day. I purchased the Work SHAPE UPS in preparation for the day I return to work and my only problem seems that the upper shoe is more flexible than the original pair I bought (Black & White Suede) which is offering less support for my foot. I would like to see the slip resistant sole on a SHAPE UP with more stitching and a firmer leather (non-suede) upper shoe to offer the support. Otherwise these shoes are the best and I look forward to trying some of the other styles for fashion statements!
March 2010 - I can walk so much better with these! Like many others I had seen the TV commercials heralding the fitness benefits of this new shoe called Skechers Shape-Ups. How it would tone the legs and the butt, etc. without all the trips to the gym. However, THAT claim is not what got my attention. Rather, it was the design of the sole of the shoe. It is curved; a rocker sole. You see I was struck by a car in 1987 and received a crushed ankle and other lower leg problems. After 40 surgeries, I had to resign myself to having a permanent disability that left me with a bunch of hardware and a permanently fused left foot. This meant that I would not only be unable to run as I had, I am also limited in walking. On top of that, I have to wear tennis shoes or have shoes custom made with rocking soles which is extremely expensive. With a local shoe franchise having a sale, my husband and I went to check this out. These shoes work great on my permanently fused foot!! The rocking sole let's me walk without a limp, helps keep my back and hips from injury. Then too, the ample amount of cushion takes away the added pain of jarring as foot meets pavement and travels up internal hardware. I can actually walk a much greater distance without pain!! Your product has helped me to have a much better quality of life. As a result I am one of your greatest walking advertisements. I will talk, blog and continue to patronize your excellent product.
