The longer version:
I use this product only on my treadmill & it works great for that. Both my previous pairs lasted a long time & wore about the same.
At 100 miles they only show some wear at the major contact points on the tread. At 200 miles the black bottom rubber is starting to wear through on the major contact points and the lace holes are starting to be stretched. At 300 miles they have fully worn through the black rubber at the major contact points & the laces holes are stretched quite a bit.
At the point I retired them. The upper still looked excellent except for some lace hole stretching. The stitching & gluing were still intact. The laces themselves lasted the life of the shoe.
The shoe is still useable but with the black rubber worn through your foot gets soar when you walk for a long time. So I keep them around to use for moving the lawn and such, so I will still get more use out of them.
I uploaded a picture captioned “100 Miles, 200 Miles, 300 Miles” showing the my actual shoes.
Overall, the shoe is a solid value. I would recommend them to a friend. I would & have bought them again.
*For reference: I am size 5.5, weigh 125-150#, & walk 3-4mph @ a %6 grade. An average shoe at this price point will usually last me between 100 & 200 miles. A higher end shoe will usually last me 150-250 miles.
**One last note: When I bought these in the store they came in a pretty retail package. When I ordered them online they arrived in a plain white box. Not really an issue to me but this may be a consideration if you are giving them as a gift.
