Great looking shoe but lacks ability to tie tight

Conspoor fit
Easy closure..but not enough ability to tie snugly to avoid slipping in the heel. I put in an insole but still too wide and slips on my son's foot. Old version and from size 13 up it allows laces to tie tight, newer version is Velcro but cant pull tight enough.
