"This is my 5th pair of Kinvara 2s. I prefer this iteration to the Kinvara 3s. The toebox fits my foot shape almost perfectly. No problems with lockdown or support even after running for several hundred miles in each pair. Excellent for any surface. Perfect for road to trail transitions. The versatility of this shoe is what truly sets it apart from other minimalist shoes. I believe there is a Kinvara trail runner but this functions incredibly well on soft mulch to root infested routes to rocky expanses. I have warn these shoes in ever environment and they have never been a detriment (beyond typical wear and tear). Once the cushioning system degrades -- which usually takes a period of at least 3 months of daily running -- aftermarket inserts return these shoes to their former glory. I feel that they age well. The tread does wear within the first three months, but once this happens, the Kinvaras become ideal road runners. Once again, they are a daily runner with incredible versatility and, for a minimalist shoe, great support."
"This is my 4th pair of Kinvaras. I finally retired my 1st pair at 700 miles. I use them mostly for everyday training runs and long runs but they are light enough that I am comfortable doing workouts in them. They last a long time as well. I wouldn't use them for races as they're a little too squishy but for just about anything else, it's a great shoe."
