"I needed comfortable shoes with good traction for work. I am a painter and during the summer months spend a good amount of time climbing up and down ladders. I wear boots in the winter, but needed something low cut for the summer. I decided on these and am happy I did.
I sprayed them with waterproofing prior to wearing and even the paint splatters I get on them, wipe off quite easily. I would definitely recommend these shoes."

"I walk 3 miles a day up and down hills with my dogs and went through a period of hating my shoes until I found the Columbia Kaibab and Romero Trail models which are a more substantial shoe than the Nike and Rebock shoes I was buying. I found this Dakota Ridge at a good price and decided to give it a try because it is Columbia. I like it just as much as my other Columbia go-to shoes. The Dakota Ridge may even have more hard rubber on the soles than the others and I like the styling. I will buy these again but of course I'll wait for the sale!"
Pros: substantial sole, the insoles are not slipery (good for downhill)
Cons: the insoles could be a litte more durable

"Recently purchased a size 14 pair of these shoes. Fit exactly to size - and that's pretty hard to find when looking for size 14s. The shoes have a great, comftorable insole - gives plenty of cushion whether you're running, walking or hiking. The shoes also have a great look to them - got 3 compliments on my new kicks the first day I wore them. Overall, very pleased with this purchase - would reccomend these shoes for a variety of uses!"
