Great shoe but wears out quickly

I really liked these shoes. They were stylish, comfortable & they fit beautifully, even for a wider foot. My issue is that after a little over a month of wear, the toe area wore out where the leather meets the fabric & the sole is pulling away leather. For what I paid for them, this is really disappointing. Maybe I just got a defective pair? I tried to exchange them, but the store I purchased them at no longer carries them. Frustrating!
